The legend that was Michael Jackson made it to the top of the charts back in 1991 with his single Black or White. Keeping his memory alive and his tunes blasting out at my-wardrobe.com headquarters, today we give a nod to the most minimal but effective of trends: monochrome. Summer or winter, day or night, black and white features heavily on the catwalk, sashaying down the red carpet and in our everyday wardrobes. Lauren Conrad knows how to keep it chic at her new book signing in a pair of black shorts and printed silk top. Why not emulate her style with the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania white ethnic print drape top, paired with Sonia by Sonia Rykiel’s black heart pocket skirt?
Have you been rocking mono styling this summer?

One of the most ubiquitous prints, stripes are an easy way to update your wardrobe. Choose from monochrome-chic like Sonia by Sonia Rykiels’s contiental-esque embellished knit or opt for some subtle colour in Vivienne Westwood Anglomania’s multicoloured top - great with denim as an off-duty look like Claudia Schiffer’s cute combo. Add a little spice to beachwear with Heidi Klein’s Hamptons bikini or go preppy in Ralph Lauren Blue Label’s crested jacket.
Will you be stylish in stripes?

Wow! When did Wimbledon raise the fashion stakes? This year has seen both the players and the crowd bringing some style to the courts that echo the trends from the street- mind you, what did we expect when Roger Federer counts Anna Wintour as a personal friend? See our Wimbledon Dos for some sporty, summery style.
Do keep it formal with a sporty twist. With the gents in waistcoats and the girls sporting feminine ruffles and cropped trenches, you can be every inch the tennis star with a few easy pieces this summer.
Do take some military inspiration from Maria Sharapova in the Karen Cropped Jacket by Yarni by Shin Choi. It’s a perfect summer cover-up.
Do Keep dresses light in colour and heavy on the detail to echo the layered pieces showcased by Britain’s own Georgie Stoop; the White plain Square dress by Vivienne Westwood Anglomania should do just the trick (maybe leave the bright red knickers to the pros!)
Do have sporty accessories such as the Pink and Mint Tri Colour Watch by Timex 80 - practical and Gorgeous!
The best thing is we mere mortals don’t have to wear trainers!

For all fashion lovers, Vivienne Westwood has to be a name that they have a) grown up with, b) rushed out to buy at some point or c) saved up to invest in a little fashion history. It’s safe to say that the grand dame of British fashion is the master of creating timeless collections, season after season. We are thrilled to see the arrival of the new Anglomania collection, which as some say, is something of a ‘greatest hits’ collection. Throughout the draped tops and skirts , nipped in waists and corset-style tops, it’s like a modern archive of vintage Westwood treasures. Favourite pieces have to be the brown draped ethnic print dress, the navy Monroe taffeta dress and the pink tartan Atlantis top . All you need know is a super high pair of platforms and you’re away (just don’t fall over!).

So, low and behold, according to weather reports, it will rain at Glastonbury this weekend. This shouldn’t be all that surprising if past years are anything to go by, but, it’s still a mighty blow to those of us hoping that our gladiators would be the only footwear essential. We say don’t be caught short without your wellies! Invest in a pair of the only brand to be seen in - Hunter! Pixie Lott recently chose the red ones at the Isle of Wight Festival. We have them in red, black, pink and original green and if you’re quick, we can get them delivered to you by tomorrow. What will be your festival style this summer?

Whether you’ve taken a holiday, slummed it at festival or had fun in the city this summer, there’s certainly been a touch of the Nineties grunge trend floating around. And what better way to revisit the decade then to add a bit of glamour to it? Mix floral prints such as the Doris Rose Print Dress by Twenty8Twelve, with chunky accessories such as the Black Tri Buckle Leather Belt by Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti and some classic Ray Bans. Or channel more of a rock chick look with the Hannah Marshall Leather Strapless Dress. So whether you lived it the first time or, like the ridiculously fashionable (and young) Taylor Momsen, you were barely even born in the Nineties it’s certainly a great inspiration for the coming season.
